Axel hadnt seen that MAddie was having trouble concentrating on the movie, he had just been happy that they had some quiet time, the baby had drained them both the last few weeks and he was happy that she had finally fallen asleep, though as he felt her hand move towards his boxers he looked at her and kissed her nose. “Go on, might as well seeing as we have some time to ourselves.” He pointed out with a moan as she palmed over his boxers.
Madison was content as long as Axel was with her at that moment. She didn’t want to be left alone and she didn’t want to let him out of her site and have him change into that …monster...again. It wasn’t like it couldn’t happen while he was there with her but at least if it did she could be prepared for it. She tucked her head under his chin and and clung to him. If anyone had ever told her she’d be this dependent on a man with mental issues that kidnapped and abused her she probably would have lit them on fire. Sometimes she was so frightened because she didn’t even know the person she had become – she was a weak mess and she hated herself for it. Most days she didn’t even have powers.
He held her gently being careful of all her bruises and cuts that he had inflected upon her during the times he wasn’t himself. As she tucked her head under his chin he smiled and kissed her lightly. He picked up a cloth and wet it before lathering soap on it and lightly pressing it against her body slowly cleaning her, he knew this wasnt the life she wanted but it seemed that this was to be her life now, trying to look after herself as well as making sure he didnt slip and hurt her again.
Madison knew that they had discussed having the baby at home but she was really nervous about it; Axel claimed to know what he was doing and she knew she had no choice but to believe him. If she were to go to the hospital to have the baby delivered they would take one look at her and take the baby away – it was that obvious by all the bruises covering her body that she was being abused. She never knew when Axel would snap but thankfully he seemed to be himself – his good self – at the moment. “I don’t think it happens that soon…I think it might be a while…” A long while with no drugs and nothing to numb the pain. “My mother.” The bitch that the woman was. “Said she was in labor for nearly eighteen hours with me.” She still laid back and allowed him to open her legs. “Just stay with me…” She begged him. “Don’t disappear. I need you. The you that loves me and the baby…”
“Ive done this before Maddy, trust me.” He whispered before kissing her cheek softly. He knew that is would take awhile but he wanted to check just in case she was already dilated. “Lets hope our baby isnt like you then. My mother said I was quick, only a few hours.” He smiled and lay down next to her when he saw nothing yet. “I will stay with you, I promise.” Axel whispered as he kissed her softly.
She should have thought things through more clearly before she brought it up and sounded like a fool. Of course treatment wouldn’t help him being a vampire; alcohol barely had an effect on him so the medication would go right through his system and be useless. Talking to someone wouldn’t help much either if he wasn’t going to take the medication they prescribed him; he was better off just talking to her because at least she knew the whole situation and understood him. “You have been doing a good job…” Maybe some encouragement was the way to go. He had been keeping the demon at bay as much as he could even if he really had no real control over it. “You really think so?” She loved him enough to want to be naive and believe what he was saying. “We will love you a lot.”
“I really do think so….THe demon is a part of my past that likes to haunt me…When my sire turned me she set me on a war path and had me kill so many people and I was a monster, the best killer she had ever made. I killed village after village, nothing could stop me. That was till I found a way out, I left her somehow, she had such a hold over me and her other children. It was hard, and I am left with the side of me that still wants to relive the old days.” He told her as he lightly traced his finger along her belly.
It was obvious that he wasn’t in complete control of himself and that he really was genuinely sorry by how he was acting. It made her feel bad for him despite all the things that he’d done to her and that wasn’t normal for Madison – this man really had broken her in every way and she wasn’t even running to save what was left of her life. “I should.” She agreed with him but for some reason wasn’t making any move to do it. “I don’t even think I can care of myself if you leave me at some hotel…” She was in such bad shape that she could barely sit up on her own. She didn’t even know who to call to help. There was no one she trusted to see her in such a way. It’s not like anyone would answer anyway; she’d been a bitch to everyone she knew.
“Please…It would be for your own safety if you were to go to a hotel…I can put you in the best one in the city…I..Just cant risk it.” HE whispered as he looked at her, he knew that she needed help but he didnt think he could give it to her after all he had caused this. “Is there a friend or family member I can call to come get you if you cant look after yourself?” Axel asked as he sat on the bed but far away from her as she seemed to flinch everytime he go close to her.
It was obvious that he was taking extreme pleasure in watching the misery he was causing her; it was nothing new. “No. I don’t like it anymore.” She answered simply in a soft voice. She didn’t want to mention that she couldn’t like it even he gave her the option to because she didn’t like to remind him of the baby. Begging him not to blow smoke in her face or asking him not to insult her would do nothing more than encourage him so she just remained quiet allowing him to do and say as he pleased. The moment he gave her permission to shower she was up off the floor as fast as he battered body would allow and scurrying towards the bathroom.
He didnt come back into the room for another week, though he had left the door unlocked so she could go out and cook for her self while he wasnt in the house. While he was away from the house the news was full of ‘animal attacks and women being abducted from their homes only to be found wiht animal claw marks on them. It was over two weeks before the vampire came back not in the same state he had left in he was back to normal and horrified at what he had down, he made his way up to his room stripping his blood stained clothes off as he did.
She was happy that he didn’t let her go even as he ran a bath for her. Madison didn’t want to be out of Axel’s arms for even a single second. “I love you too.” No matter how numb she felt she could at least manage to say those words in return. He had to know how much she loved him; it was important – Especially with his illness. She didn’t need him beating himself up over it. Even if she knew he would do it anyway she hoped that knowing her love for him would make him go easier on himself. “Just don’t leave…take a bath with me and keep holding me.”
He nodded and kissed her cheek softly when she staid to stay with her. Once the bath was full enough he placed her on the bench and made it so she had her arms around his neck as he undressed. Axel gave her a small smile once he was naked and he picked her up once more before stepping into the tub and slowly lowering himself and her into the warm water.
Madison shot up in bed grabbing at her stomach because the pain was too much to bare. She knew it was another contraction but this one felt worse than any of the others – bad enough to wake her from a sound sleep. She reached out with her other hand to try and shake Axel awake because she was afraid to be alone at that moment. And then she felt the gush of water between her legs. “Baby. Wake up!” She cried out. “I think it’s coming…I think the baby is coming…”
He groaned and covered himself with the blankets more when she first shook him, at her next shake he woke up and looked at her just as her water broke. “Shit…Shit….Okay, calm down.” He told her as he got out of bed and grabbed some towels for her and he gently lifted her onto it before kissing her forehead. “Okay, I need to see how far the little one is before you can start pushing.” Axel told her as he spread her legs gently.
