Brent became stiff all over, his hands clenching tight as a sign of him struggling to keep composure. On the inside it felt like all his hopes and dreams were being shattered. In the back of his mind he shoved his deepest, darkest thought that one day Brent will age and age and finally die and then Axel would watch him die and again his love would have to wait until he was reborn. 

He shut his eyes, his next exhale came in a shuddering breath before he gave the other a pained expression. Suddenly his throat felt clenched, his chest muscles constricted as though he would cry at any moment. But like a gashing wound that he pressed on to hold back the crimson stains, he held back his tears because a necromancer did not have the luxury to cry.

“Of course- of course you tried everything,” he spoke with a thick voice that did not do anything to mask his inner conflict. “I’m sorry, I am so sorry Axel for bringing it up. I don’t think I would handle your life ending no matter the circumstance.” He looked at a corner of the room, shameful that he brought it up.

He could tell the change in Brent as he spoke and he took his hands gently kissing them as he smiled up at him. “You know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I would do anything to do that….But there is always the risk that the stake through the heart will kill me, it would normally and if we tried it to make me human again and it did not work….I know you could not live with your self.” 

He gently pulled Brent down on his lap and kissed his cheek. “I know you mean well, I really do…And I never said I had tried every thing, just a lot of things. I could make you like me…if you wanted..” He mumbled the last bit not sure if he could even have the strength to turn Brent into a Vampire but if the other wanted it he would do it for him. 

He hugged Brent softly and put his head on his shoulder as he thought of the options at hand and which one would be easier.
