WAY TO FIX MISSING REPLIES:
don’t do anything to the url. leave it like it is, and your reply will be there. don’t make it big, don’t italicize, don’t replace the colon with a period. leave it alone, and the post will look stupid like tumblr wants, but your reply will be there.

Also I find that writing your tags before editing the text keeps your reply there, for those who are still running into the problem like I was. If you have to edit tags after you’ve written your reply, just make sure to make the last thing you edit be on the text space (so like just delete and retype a punctuation or something) before posting.
