She let herself collapse on the floor, biting her lip harshly to stop herself crying out from the pain, letting the thump and the male’s banging be all their captors could hear. She didn’t even have to move from her position on the floor to hear the footsteps running towards the door. Well here went nothing. The door swung open and she kept her eyes half shut, letting her breathing sound strained and wheezing. “What’s wrong with her? Did you use the wrong fucking dose?” one of the men complained to the other.
Axel growled and tackled one of the men with what strength he had left and tore into his throat with his fangs, his eyes black as he drunk his blood, once he had his fill he turned on the other man who was running away from their cell, he lept at him and sunk his fangs into his neck drinking from him as he clung to the man’s back, the loss of blood slowly making him fall down. Axel fought to control himself and drag the body back to the cell, blood dripping from his hands and mouth.
Malia’s hand rubbed harshly as her face as she tried to get her body movin as some sort of reasonable speed. The door was solid metal, the chances of getting through it? Slim to none. “Here’s what we need to do. I’l fake that the wolfsbane is killing me – you’ll shout for them to help. If they come, stand away from them for a second and let them get near me. Once their back is turned, attack them – their blood will help you heal.”
He nodded at her plan and banged on the door with both hands. “HELP! HELP! THE GIRL IS DYING!” HE screamed hoping that their captors would hear him and come down to help her so that their plan would work. He pressed his ear against the door to see if he could hear anything, as soon as he heard fast footsteps he moved away from the door.
Malia managed to stand though she was like a newborn deer ice, tripping over her own feet, but she knew they had to get out before something really bad ended up happening. “We can do this. Come on!” she encouraged with a tight smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
He sighed and looked over at her before getting to his shaky feet once more, he moved over to the door, gently pulling her along with him. “Okay….Okay…lets get through this door then..freedom..” He said with a small smile as he looked over at her and pressed his shoulder against the steel door.
“You hear the water. It’s faint, but it makes sense for Hunters to build a base next to a stream or river – some creatures can’t cross running water.” Malia fell back against the wall as she tried to stand, but the movement felt too quick and she instantly felt sick.
Axel struggled as he walked around the room trying to find anything that would make it so he could try and get them both out of here and away from whatever hell the hunters had planned for them. “Damn it…” He said as he slumped down against the wall sighing as he could not find a way to get out.
