Shaking her head as he teased Amelia rested her head on his shoulder as an arm wrapped around him. “I wasn’t going to force, encourage. So she knows it’s okay to invite people here…hey sweetie mummy got you a new book today. Go into the study it’s on daddys desk.”
“I know you wouldnt have. I was teasing darling, we will make sure she knows….Or we could even give her a sibling.” He said nudging her lightly with a grin as their daughter left to the study. “Has she even talked to others at school? What do her teachers say?” Axel asked as he hugged her lightly.
“Not the only thing you like to taste…” Scowling at him playfully as she kissed her daughter’s cheek. “You’re probably right, don’t get cocky that I’m actually agreeing with you. I just don’t want her to be lonely. Not easy growing up without anyone but family.”
HE grinned and kissed her cheek again. “Im not getting cocky, well not yet.” He teased. “I understand, but you have let her do it. You can force someone to interact with others, no matter how you try. It hasnt worked with me yet.” Axel pointed out.
“I know, I like to read to I just don’t want her to end up…Axel we weren’t happy before. You were drunk everyday and I was on and off with people.” Her eyes narrowed but she was smiling, obviously playing a little but it was true. “Agree with me for once.” Teasing as she pecked his lips moving to look at their little girl. “Least she looks like me, could you imagine taking after your looks? Oh she’d need counseling.” Laughing as she tilted to kiss him on the cheek again. “I’m joking.”
“Oh so mean to me, you married me for my looks.” He teased as he went and picked up their daughter. “Fine, I guess I will agree with you but I still think that she needs time to make friends, she like me and like to just be alone, she will grow out of it.” He told her as he kissed her cheek. “And you make being drunk sound bad, I like the way it tasted.”
Amelia sighed at the kiss, fingers going to brush over his cheek laughing at him and his oblivious mind. “You can talk to her about how being solitary doesn’t get you much in life too…and no the fact being that way all those years led you to me doesn’t count as a plus side to it. Don’t think you’re cute by suggesting that either because you know it will work and I’ll give in.”
“You dont need to have friends to be happy Amie. Plus shes young, give her time to make friends, shes like me and likes to read.” He pointed out to her. “Oh come on it so proves it.” HE laughed as he hugged her as their little one came in with a book.
“It’s bad when she uses you as an example of why she can eat whatever she wants, and doesn’t want to play with anyone. Wonder who she gets that from?” Looking at him, her eyes a little playful but it was like having a little female Axel wandering around the house.
“Now it definitely sounds like you are saying its a bad thing, come on she doesnt need to play with others.” He laughed at he looked at Amie. “Ill talk to her about eating what she wants..” he told his wife before kissing her cheek.
Looking up at him Amelia’s head shook, some things never changed. His attitude being one of them. Considering this time she asked him to breakfast and didn’t order him it was a little surprising how he was grunting about. Starting at her food the brunette ushering the help away leaving them alone.
“I hope you slept well. I invited you to breakfast because I need to discuss the terms of your contract ending. As of tomorrow you will no longer be a slave, I won’t own you and you will freely be able to leave but if you would like then you can stay. That choice is yours but you will always be welcome here.” Not looking at him as she spoke Amelia continued to take bites of her food.
He noticed as she sent her help away, leaving him alone with her, it was the first time she had done that since he had been brought here. He didnt touch his food just yet the frown staying on his face as he listened to her.
Once she finished he stared at her and laughed. “You expect me to believe that you would just let me be free? I doubt that very much. Unless it is that I am too much of a handful for the spoilt little mistress.” He said as he began to eat now.
Amelia stayed seated, waiting for him not very much looking forward to this morning because she knew the conversation that she needed to have. Still it was time and he had given her so much. Never much enjoying the concept of ownership anyway.
Madeline stayed at the door, hands behind her back waiting for him to answer in some way. Only to speak out anyway because the man never was prompt. She was used to that by now. “I’ve been sent to tell you that breakfast is ready Sir.” It was the first time she was instructed to call him that, after all this morning he would be a guest and not a slave.
He huffed as she spoke and cursed again in Swedish this time it was aimed at her as he moved past her and downstairs to the dinning room, he stared at Amelia from across the room before sitting down and starting to eat not saying anything to her, after all she was the one who had called him to come for breakfast, not the other way round.
In his bad mood he hadnt even noticed that her maid had called him sir for the first time, and even now it had registered with him.
It had been a few months now since Amelia had bought the Swedish warrior, nothing was smooth and easy though. One hell of a battle at the start in fact but now they were both slowly learning and he was giving her what she wanted. It wouldn’t be long before Axel would be let go.
That morning Amelia had a place set for him, left a note for him to join her at breakfast. Still she waited wondering if they had got to a point where he would show, eat and maybe allow her to be his host rather than a slave owner. “Madeline, could you please go and check on our guest? And tell cook that we will be ready in a few minutes.”
Even after all this time he did not like it at her Villa, he was still a slave and her his owner which made the viking more than mad on many occasions. When he woke that morning he saw the note she had left for him and he debated whether or not to go down and sit with her.
He got dressed and huffed as he heard someone knock on the door already, he cursed in Swedish and stared down at Amelia’s maid.
He smiled and tilted his head back to look at her. “Hmm…Well I dont know, I never do too much on this day.” He told her softly as he put his book aside so she could sit next to him if she wanted to.
