“Oh, right. You’re on of the good vampires. Sorry, I forgot you had any goodness inside you when you refused to take me shopping.” After saying that, her fake solemn expression broke into a smile. She sat on the edge of the couch and held on to one of Axel’s legs so she wouldn’t get knocked down if she rolled over. ”But seriously, wanna take me tonight? I’ll buy you ice cream and a nice sweater vest. Do you like sweater vests?”
“Im still a good vampire…And I didnt say I wouldnt take you. Wait till the sun goes down first.” Axel talk her as he looked at her holding his leg. “We can go…In an hour, and no sweater vests.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realise you were a vampire,” Hailey mocked. She crossed her arms over her chest and narrowed her eyes at him with fake suspicion. “So your tea is mixed with the blood of your victims, huh? Does Brent know about this?”
He yawned and curled up on the couch once more. “At least I don’t have to hide it now that you figured it out.” He said as he cuddled the pillow. “I dont have victims…the bloods from blood bags from the hospital…” He mumbled. “And Brent knows.”
Hailey raised an eyebrow at Axel as he took the mug away from her. “Why? Does it have…like…something in it? Like cough syrup or a magical herb that grants immortality?” She eyed the two mugs he kept away from her reach. Maybe he just wanted all of this specific tea for himself, but he didn’t seem to be possessive as much as suspicious. “Or is it made from the bones of your victims? Is there a body in the closet?”
“Hi!!!” Hailey jumped off the couch, dropping her magazine to the floor, and skipped after Axel into the kitchen. “I made pancakes!!”
“Hmm Maybe there are bodies all around my house that you do not know about.” He grinned as he sipped his mug of tea and threw the other one down the sink. “Oh and the bone of my victims got ground up for the spice mix, not my tea.” Axel teased her.
“That’s a nice name,” she called after him. She knew she should leave and lock the door, but she wanted to think of one hero she read about with a similar name. Maybe it would warm up things; she really didn’t want Axel to dislike her. She couldn’t think of anything, though, so she continued with a really lame question. “Axel with an X or Aksel with a K-S?”
“Its with an X, K-S Is not common where I am from.” HE sighed as he entered the kitchen and grabbed his cup before starting the jug. He looked at her and sat down. “Explain why you are here again.” Axel told her as he rubbed his eyes.
