Axel sighed as he sat at the table surrounded by other royals, this was the sort of dinner he hated as there was generally on one else his age and as the prince of Sweden he had no choice to attend as it would have been rude if he didn’t. As his father continued to talk with the other men around the table he smiled and stood up politely excusing himself from the table.
The young prince smiled as he walked out of the room glad to be free from hearing them talk about who they wanted to set their sons and daughters up with. He headed out to the small balcony that was off the dinning room, opening the doors before stopping. “Sorry Miss, I did not know that someone was already out here.” He said with a small bow once he saw the woman.

Adelaide wasn’t one to jump right into the whole everyone look at me party that was going on in the other room. She desperately craved the privacy of her own solitude, but tonight was all about her meeting other royals and she was trying hard to keep her promise and doing so. Making her way around the room, she was introduced to each member of court, even though she knew there was no way she could possibly remember their names after the night was over.
Luckily, after about twenty minutes of smiling too much and trying really hard to keep up appearances she noticed a small balcony and made her way toward it and out the doors without anyone noticing. Or at least she thought, seconds lady she turned to see a gentleman coming out those same doors.
With a small curtsy, she replied. “No it’s me that is sorry, I probably should still be in there, but I needed a bit of fresh air after meeting so many people. If you would like to be alone, I will take my leave and head back in.” her words coming out more as a question than a statement.
Axel smiled and moved over to her. “No, no…you do not need to leave just because I am here…I know it is my fathers house but stay, enjoy the air with me.” He said with a small grin as he leaned against the railing and looked out over the city.
“I agree though meeting so many people is rather tiring. Even more so when the woman are talking about marrying you off to their daughters..” He sighed and sat down on one of the chairs. “Have you had many bring their sons over to you?”
