It had gone exactly as planned. While he enjoyed the momentary pleasure, he quickly got bored, and after kissing the other full on the mouth he sat him down and summoned a drink to re-vitalize him; One of the potions the bar sold for such purposes…as a dead human was a boring human. Either that or an irksome Ghoul…which he’d made a few of.
Eyes trailed the other’s movement out of the bar; Secluded and hidden from humans not invited or marked with sigils to allow them passage. Appearing dilapidated to any onlooker.

Arising, he zigzagged his way through the crowd, smiling here and there as he was known by some, though he only got frowns and looks of disgust. They had not forgotten Axel’s last surviving sired, and most accursed one; For even older vampires whose vitae flowed through their veins had succumbed to the sorcerer’s abilities and wiles.
He’d a knack for tracking them down and lulling them into a false sense of safety before striking. They’d turned up petrified, mutilated and he’d found ways of twisting their nature and turning them into unspeakable monsters with no human emotion left in them.

Seeing the door to the outside, he pushed it with a gesture of his hand and inhaled the night air. Head turned, searching for the man; A part of him longed for Axel. Another part took delight in flaunting their bond, flaunting his power and remaining untouchable, almost.

“Do you disapprove?” He yelled out as if to lure the other to where he stood; Miguel knew the vampire to be skilled at disguise and illusion.
“This is what you created….your vitae flows through me, Axel, and so I am like you…” Miguel’s smile widened; Blood still staining his lips and running down his chin.  He chuckled dryly.

“The others were weak, and so they were unworthy of existence as vampires…is this why we quarrel? ‘Cause I did what you could not?”

It seemed that he could not even get the peace he wanted, he sighed as he heard Miguel come out onto the balcony after him and start taunting him about tonight’s events. THe vampire shook his head and came out of the shadows, his green eyes glaring at the other. “Of course I disapprove. And you know that childe.” He said to him his tone was icy as was his glare now. While he did still care for him, it was more of a sire and childe bond, not the feelings that he once had for the other.

“Oh I know my blood runs through you and created you. But you are not like me. I tried to show you as I did with my other childe that you killed out of spite and jealousy because I was getting as you put it too close.” He explained as he moved closer to him, straightening his jacket as he stared at Miguel.

“You did what you thought was right, the only rule I have ever had for you Miguel was that you do not kill our own kind yet you broke that rule and now expect me to greet you with open arms and have everything you once had. You expect my love and trust after you tore my heart out by killing part of our family because you thoought he was weak?” Axel shook his head once more and leaned against the railing looking out at the city. “You still have not learnt.”

Bright eyes followed him; Eyes that shone like two solitary flames in the shadows. Axel’s elegance and poise never faltered. He moved as if he owned the place…once a king, always a king, Miguel thought to himself as he smiled cynically.
The vampire knew just how much the other detested such gatherings; Even if people requested his presence and showered him with gifts and affection. The time they’d spent together had brought them extremely close, and at one point they could sense each other’s emotions and comfort one another. And so Miguel had felt betrayed when another newborn vampire came into their lives…

Competition for his Sire’s affection. For his time. And it made him irate when he saw him cozying up to the man he’d come to care for…and almost idolize. The man he called friend; Ally; Companion, even. It was during those moments that he felt the beast emerge and filled with murderous rage, all he had in mind was eradicating the other, even at the expense of his relationship to Axel; That beautiful bond.
Once he’d returned to his senses he found his wand snapped and blood flowing from his mouth where he’d been struck by Axel. The other wept for the youth and Miguel left in shame and guilt…

Now they addressed one another as if they were strangers; As if they were ships whose paths would never intersect again. A part of him wished to go over there and on bended knee beg him to forgive him; To take him back. Make things as they were…rewind time, in a sense. But Miguel knew that was impossible. Too much had transpired. There were too many unsaid words.
He had to vent somehow.
He had to distract himself.

So he eyed the human once again and walked over to where he sat with his friends. He was youthful and extremely pretty. There were no marks from other vampires feeding from him; At such parties, humans had the option of allowing to be fed from, granted their blood was pure and drug-free. Not a word was said between them as Miguel would sit down and prop the other on his lap, nearing his neck, and making contact with Axel, bit deeply into the other’s neck, removing his shirt in the process; The gush of warm, crimson vitae filled his mouth and nourished his body. He felt himself draw breath and exhale an audible moan.

He looked away from Miguel, that was one wound he had no plans on reopening tonight, he just wanted to enjoy the night and not have to deal with his childe. Even more so seeing as Miguel had l had picked to join their little family at the time, he sighed as he smiled at the crowd giving them what they wanted instead of doing as he wanted.

He would have much rathered being at home alone than here, anywhere but here really. At a bar full of humans would be better than being in a room full of people who were to get further in the vampire ranks.

He sighed as he listened to the people around him talk, it was all too loud for his liking and his eyes soon drifted to Miguel again, this time seeing him go for the human. HE knew the humans were here for the vampires to feed on but it was normally towards the end of the night that they fed on them, yet here was Miguel feeding on one now. As he bit down on the neck of the mortal, Axel’s eyes turned black as he stared, it was the sent of fresh blood that had his more vampiric side coming out.

He shook his head and quickly looked away, he knew that Miguel was just was doing to get some sort of reaction from him and it had worked, he excused himself and went out side to get some fresh air.

@the-solitary-monster

He’d been having such a great time until then; The music was pleasant. The crowd was awesome. He had a glass of his favourite blood; Slightly diluted and still warm.
Miguel had his eye at that moment on a human, but his attention had shifted right away to see Axel. Emotions bubbled up to the surface and he’d half a mind to disapparate right away. Taking a moment to calm himself; The Beast had been dormant for too long, yet now he could feel it rising within him.
Miguel would not give into it.

Two centuries had transpired since their last encounter. It had been heated and it’d been violent. He recalls killing one of Axel’s own vampires he’d also turned in a fit of rage, blasting him with a concentrated beam of light from his wand. The youth had screamed in agony before succumbing in a fiery explosion. Axel had snapped the wand and swearing to kill him if he ever saw him again.
He’d since then acquired a new one. And he’d also learned a few more tricks.

Others in the club had noticed the king’s arrival, as some flocked towards him. Miguel found him as beautiful as always. As poised. As cold. And he hated him for it. He hated his nights of utter agony without him. So he sat down on a cushioned chair and closed his eyes.
Still then he felt their bond; His pull. It was quite irksome. As if they were tethered still across time and space.

Axel stepped into the club, it was an event that most of the vampires in the city had been invited to, though he was still a little shocked to see some familiar faces, as unlike him he knew that the others didn’t hide themselves from the humans. As he was offered some blood he turned it down and smiled at those who came to greet him, his eyes looking around the room till they saw Miguel. It was a face he was sure that he would never see again, not after  all that had happened between them.

He gave the other a small nod as he could see the other had noticed him as well. Axel sat and talked with those who came over to talk with him, though he would much rather be left alone than having to deal with them.
