Piper began the day the way she always did. Getting up was no easy feat and she’d spend at least fifteen minutes tossing and turning like a flounder on a dry dock, trying find profitable purchase. Maybe sleep…again. But today did not go as all the other days she’d begun usually went; to begin with she was awfully chipper for the early hour and that was even after the coffee had kicked in. And for seconds, Dan woke up and came out to the kitchen where she was cooking breakfast to tell her that he thought she was “still keeping to many secrets” from him and that she ought to “order her priorities before getting into a relationship” with someone. Which, generally speaking, he meant himself and that she was being a selfish broad. He all but threw her out on the street, which may or may not have hurt less than the actual breaking of her heart by that point.
Needless to say her day was already a doozy and it was only six hours in.
Instead of going home to the manor house, Piper headed over to P3 where no one would ask questions about her bad mood, like her sisters and their Whitelighter undoubtedly would. She hadn’t had a single chance to think about Dan since he’d broken up with her that morning, and it was quickly approaching two in the evening. If there was a workaholic in the family it was Prue but today, Piper was following a close second.
“I’ve got those order forms for you, Piper.” The manager she’d hired to work when she wasn’t around was just as good to have on hand when she was. They made a good team in the terms that they made the club better and better every day. And the girl wasn’t bad with the accounting either!
“That’s great, Alex. Thanks a lot for your help today.” Her voice was pleasant enough but the emotional wear took its toll on her in every way. She felt like a giant wet noodle about ready to collapse and go all gooey any second now. Somehow Piper had been keeping it at bay all day. “You can go home whenever.”
“You sure…?”
“Yeah, you’ve been a great help. Enjoy your evening.” What was left unsaid was, ‘because I sure as Hell won’t be.’
When Alex had left she locked up the office and was determined to bartend for the rest of the evening. Maybe listening to other people’s woes would help detract her from hers. And was Dan really that much of a loss anyway? Meh…
Unlike most vampires who chose to spend teh day in bed cause they could not go out in the sun Axel actually was up early in the morning, even though he couldn’t go outside it did not stop him from having a somewhat productive day. He was a recluise and spent most of his days drinking cider and blood bags when he needed it which wasn’t often as he had trained himself to not drink that much blood even when he could feel the hunger getting worse.
On this day though he had decided that he would actually go out in the evening and be amongest others. He had been craving the company of other lately and he knew of a club that had good music and had good barstaff as well. As the evening drew near he found some clothes that he assumed where clean as they didn’t smell and he headed out towards the city.
The vampire was lucky that he didnt have a problem getting into the club even though he did look a little scrffy. Once inside he smiled and moved through the crowd grinning a few of the women that glanced his way. As he made his way tot he bar he stop and hooked arms with one of the younger girls that was there and moved over to the bar with her. “Two bottles of cider please.” He said flashing a toothy grin at the bartender.
