“I thought you didn’t like people. What does it matter what they think, right? Why don’t you take your blessed presence and go grace all those lucky, adoring people? It’s wasted here. I could be working on your spell instead of doing this, whatever this is.”
“I dont like people but that doesnt mean they cant think I am lovely and like me. So my presence is a blessing to them. Ah you could be working on my spell but you havent been for quite a while so I am wasting nothing.”
The snarl did frighten her, she wouldn’t lie about that. But the way he talked to her only proved her point and she could only be amused by him. “Oooh intimidation tactics, that’s not like a vampire at all. I’m sorry I misjudged and offended you, dear customer of mine. How shall I ever make it up to you?” Her smile slipped as her amusement turned bitter.
“I don’t have to be pleasant to you, vampire. I just have to do what I said I would do. Let me remind you that you came to me. You may have manners, but I have the power that you need in this situation, not the other way around. Now do you want to be human again, or would you rather be coddled?”
“Sooo, if I was a werewolf or a witch asking for you help you would treat them like you are treating me right now? I doubt that. You would be pleasant to them but you choose to not be so to me. I have been pleasant to you, I even bestowed a gift upon you so show my respect for your craft. Also in hopes that the books would help you.” HE told her trying to control the temper that was rising within him.
“Yes I came to you. I came to you as a man looking help, a man. Not a creature of the night. Not someone who would hurt you. Just someone who bared themselves to you so that you would help cure them. Yet you have not been kind or pleasant to me at all.” He snapped at her as she spoke to him. “I still have power and if I so wish I can leave and find someone else to help me.”
“Yes I have been a monster in the past but I have more than made up for my crimes against you and others. Now all I ask is to be human, to live out a normal life, yet you still treat as you would other vampires who do more horrible deeds than I. Perhaps I was very wrong to come to you Ms. Martin. You may keep the books but I shall be leaving.”
“Okay, so you say you see into my house, you creep. But that can’t be true ‘cause I totally have protections up! But whatever, let’s say you did, for the sake of this … whatever it is you’re doing. Yes, Axel, I am making a bone friend. And after I turn you human, I’m sending him after you to eat you alive. That way he’ll be full of you and I won’t need him to come back.”
“What I am doing liten häxa is having fun at your expense. And you are getting grumpy. Which is very amusing. But I still doubt that you would be able to make such a friend nor would he listen to you. Mostly cause he would hear the same whine I do and just want you to stop.” Axel teased with a wide grin.
“You know what’s hilarious? Is that you think you could ever do that to me or any other witch ever! Wow. So I see you’re not that smart and so I can’t really be offended by anything you say. Vampires have rules because that’s how you were made. Witches don’t need rules because we are the creators and you are just the creation … Also, you think the Blair witch is real soo …”
“Excuse me I was around when the blair witch was made and I know it isnt real. I probably know more about it than you do. I’ve seen your house and all the little bones you collect. Are you tying to make a friend? Im sure they would leave as well.”
“Oh, you made rules. That’s quaint.” Greta said though she did fold her arms over herself as a sign of good faith. “Yeah well, I was right about you flying like a blind bat. Are you done?”
“I could just compel you if I really wanted to.” He pointed out with a smirk. “All vampires have rules, its witches that dont. I dont steal children. I might fly blind as a bat but I collect teeth.”
“Yes, that’s exactly what I do. I flail my arms around. Would you like a demonstration?”
He landed hard as he had not been expecting her to use her magic on him he stood up and glared at her. “If I am not allowed to bite you then you are not allowed to use your magic on me witch.” He hissed as he stared at her for a moment before laughing. “You did flail your arms around though, I was right.”
“The only bit of magick you have and you choose to turn in to a bat! I DON’T WORK WITH WANDS! They are stupid and only cheaters and children use them!”
“I cant even turn into a bat. You need to brush up on vampire lore, liten häxa. See you should use them, you are a child after all. So if you dont use wands do you just flail your arms and hands around to cast spells?”
“At least as a bat I can fly better than you can on you broom. How many cats do you have? Are they all black? Are you always mad because you have your wand somewhere it shouldnt be?”
