As soon as Elena had heard the knock on the door, she quickly went over and opened it up to see her savior from the night before. “Axel, hey” she greeted with a smile, slipping her phone into her pocket as she stepped onto the front porch with him. “I just finished up breakfast. Good timing.”

He smiled as he saw her and nodded. “I am lucky again it seems.” He chuckled as she stepped onto the porch with him. “Where would you like to go first m’lady?” Axel grinned as he held his arm out for her to hold as he steeped down a few steps.

The very next morning, after showering and putting on a pair of jean capri’s and an army green tank, the brunette made her way down into her kitchen to cook herself up some breakfast. She wasn’t much of a cook, but she could manage to cook up some scrambled eggs and toast well enough. She knew that Axel would be over to pick her up soon, so she ate quickly and cleaned the kitchen up just as quickly before he arrived.

He woke up a little late and picked the first thing that didnt smell too badly to wear today, he rushed out of his house and locked it as he ran towards her house, unaware of the weird looks he was getting as he arrived in her neighborhood, he gave himself a moment to catch his breath before knocking on her door and waiting for her to answer.

“And that’s what makes you better than them” she quipped, the corner of her mouth gently tugging upwards. That smile only grew when she was surprised by his lips on her cheek. “I’ll see you soon” she replied with a light shrug of her shoulders. Oddly enough, she looked forward to seeing him again. Given her house was just up the street, she turned with a small wave and made the small stroll back to her place.

“See you in the morning.” He said with a wink as he left her there and headed back to his house, he was looking forward to tomorrow and showing her around, it would give him a chance to act like a normal person rather than a drug dealer and one of the men he had saved her from tonight. He sighed and opened the door to his apartment locking it once her stepped inside. Axel moved over to his bed and crawled into it, falling asleep rather quickly to thoughts of the girl he had met.

“Like I said, you shouldn’t judge based on the clothes people wear. Looking at you, you look no better than those thugs. I can’t say the same about you though now that I’ve actually met you. Image is everything to people. I used to be the same way, actually. Without going into too much detail, I know some very bad people that looked like some of the greatest upon first glance” she said, running her hands over her legs and letting out a soft sigh. Standing up now, she nodded her head and smiled. “Innocent walk, huh?” She asked, chuckling softly. “Well…I suppose there’s no harm in that.”

He laughed again and shook his head. “I wont make that mistake again, never will I think a woman wearing an innocent looking dress is actually innocent.” Axel said with a smirk. “Well I told you already that I am no better than those thugs…I just cant let them hurt a woman.” He explained. “It will be innocent I promise, just to show you around and which places not to go near.” He gave her a small smiled and leaned forward to kiss her cheek softly. “Be safe tonight till I see you again.”

Her brows rose as she glanced over at him. “Did you really just insinuate that I was pure?” Of course she wasn’t upset as there was a hint of a smile on her lips. “Nice, maybe…but not pure” she chuckled, shaking her head. She was no angel and most times, she could handle herself. “Though I wouldn’t be opposed to being shown around” she added, leaning back on the bench now. “For the record though, I don’t go looking for danger. Danger finds me. Like tonight. Innocent walk, I swear.”

“Maybe I did, I mean you look pretty pure in that dress of yours compared to everyone else in the neighbourhood.” He said with a smile as she chuckled. “Uh huh…I believe that.” Axel laughed as he stood up. “How about I pick you up in the morning and we go on an innocent walk together?” He asked raising his eyebrow at her.

Elena nodded her head. She could understand, even if she really had no idea what he went through.  “No, it’s completely understandable.” Though she had been through hell, she could imagine how much worse that could get. “You still seem like a good enough kind of guy” she added, taking a seat beside him on the bench.

Axel gave her a small smile and he looked up at her. “I am kind of a good man…But probably not one that you would want to be around, you seem a little to pure and nice to be around someone like me.” He told her as she sat next to him. “BUt I can still show you around a but to get you used to this place, where to go and where not to go it you want…Tht way you dont get in trouble like you did tonight.” He suggested with a grin.

She wasn’t sure what would be a wrong or a right answer in this situation. “I mean, I come from a small town. It’s wasn’t really divided into good and bad section. Some of the worst came from the best, so I can imagine it being the opposite” she said, her nose scrunching and head shaking when he offered the flask. “And I didn’t say that either. I think everyone has a choice, but some people also don’t have certain opportunities because life can get in the way.”

“Not everyone has a choice where they end up in life, sometimes it just happens….some people are born into places like that neighbourhood and can never get out.” He told her as he sipped the whiskey, he shook his head and put the flask away. “I am sorry for my words, but…I know you have not seen what I have…just as I have not seen what you have..”

“No need to apologize. There need to be more men like that around” she shrugged, timidly moving towards the bench. “I guess it’s none of my business or anything but…do you live in that neighborhood? I mean, I assume you do but you just seem like you’re better than some neighborhood full of junkies and criminals.”

“I do live there…Does it surprise you?” He asked as he looked at her, he wasn’t that much different to them he just had a bit more of moral code than they did. “I’m not that much better than them.” He gave her a small smile before offering the flask to her again, not sure thats he would take it again after her reaction last time. “Let me guess you could never see yourself getting so bad in life that you live in a place like that?”

“Yeah…thanks for the image” she replied uncomfortably, folding her arms over her chest. Swallowing thickly, she stopped and turned to the bench he had taken a seat on. “You didn’t.” He could have done just as he just said, but he hadn’t. “I mean, unless you’re planning on taking me for yourself…but why wouldn’t you?”

“Sorry.” He sighed. “I’m not sick like them…” He mumbled, sure he could have joined in and raped her, forced himself on her and beaten her to near death but the thought of it made him ill. Yes he had problems and he sometimes made bad choices but to do that to a woman was not something he would ever do.
