He tilted his head and quirked a brow. “How do you improve without a friendly spar now and then? I intend no harm, just enjoy the competition and challenge of it.”
“I do not like to fight Kyle so please drop the subject of us fighting or anyone else fighting me.” He told him as he went back to reading his book. “If you want to spar with someone go find another vamp to do so with.”
His eyes lit up slightly at the implication nonetheless. “Why do you say that?” He asked, his voice becoming silken in tone. Axel either meant he would put up too much fight, or he simply meant that he would be no challenge. It didn’t matter to Kyle either way, he just liked to see how he matched up to other’s skills.
“No reason Kyle. But we should not with our kind, that is something we would do with our enemies.” He simply explained as he eyed the other, Kyle seemed too eager to fight and that did not sit right with him as he was not a fighter unless he was backed into a corner, then his beast would come out and defend him.
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
“It’s even harder still when you were around before such a singular God existed,” he hummed, he nodded his head. “No offense taken at all,” he assured him easily.
“I’ve worked as a tailor before, definitely comes in handy,” he chuckled. “My preferred profession has been soldiering for a long time…but lately I’ve been taking it easy as a student.” His smile fell slightly, leaving soldiering wasn’t exactly a conscious choice as much as it was a necessity. His mind just couldn’t handle much more violence.
“None taken, the Christens had taken over my homeland and destroyed the belief in our old gods in favour of their own. I was taught about both but made to believe in the Christen god….Who I no longer believe in.” He laughed as he looked at Kyle.
“May father trained me, he was one and I was to take of the family business before being turned. Never partaken in soldiering, I did not even fight in the wars.”
He hummed, cocking his head slightly to one side. “I think it would be fun. Don’t you ever like to tussle with someone closer to your skill level?” Kyle hadn’t really found a partner yet who matched up to his level in a fair fight. He usually had to take a handicap of some sort.
“I do not like to tussle with anyone and I have not done that sort of thing since I was younger and still with my sire.” Axel explained to the other, he smirked as he did wonder how they would go against each other. “I do not think you would want to fight me.”
A low chuckle left his lips. “Weakness would have nothing to do with it, and I very much doubt anyone should take anything about us at face value…What I meant was someone has been stalking me lately, so there might be hunters about.” A grin had affixed itself on his lips. “If you want to tangle with me though, that could certainly be arranged…”
“I can deal with hunters, they are easy to dispatch. And I do no wish to tangle with you Kyle I was merely pointing out that I am not as easy to hurt.” He explained to the other, hunters did not bother him as much as having to fight one of his own kind as they were not worth the hassle of fighting.
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
“Yeah, I had my existential crisis a good few centuries ago,” he murmured with a nod. His lips quirked up on one side in a warm, reassuring expression. “You can reveal, or not reveal whatever you wish, I won’t pry further, we only just met after all.“
He leaned back in his chair, folding his hands behind his head. While he himself was an open book, he never expected the same from others. “Do you have a profession, or professions that you prefer?” He asked instead.
“It is hard when you have been told all your life that god is real only to have two people try to use him to kill you.” He chuckled as he smiled at Kyle. “Its nothing against you I just take a little bit to warm up to people and I have only just met you Kyle.”
“I have tried my hand at a few but I was trained as a tailor when I was human and I do like it as a profession….that and cooking. And yourself?”
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
He cringed slightly. “Ouch. That doesn’t sound good.” Sounded like something they could die from actually. He wasn’t sure he would survive a full-on exorcism anyway.
He hummed, full curiosity piqued now. “Oh? Then what is it that you do that is so unusual?”
“It wasn’t fun I’ll tell you that much, kinda ruins your faith in a higher power.” He chuckled as he looked at Kyle. “Lets just say that once the cross was off my back they never saw the light of day again.”
“I rather not say as I know you will laugh at it.” He told him.
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
His smile was warm as he let out a hum. “Who said I was interested in what’s ‘normal?’” he chuckled. “Quite a bit more interested in what isn’t normal. I like doing crazy stuff, jumping out of planes and off bridges.”
“I have one from where a priest and an exorcist tried to use the power of Christ to change me back to human and the others are from stupid things done as a human teenager.” He chuckled as he looked at the other. “See that is a little more normal than what I like to do.” Axel said laughing.
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
“Serious?” He asked incredulously with a laugh, his grin almost large enough to split his face. “My, my what a poor impression I’ve made if you think I’m serious.”
He rested his chin on his hand as his chuckles died down. “Sparta certainly still exists, just not exactly as it’s own country.”
He inclined his head at the warrior comment, always finding such a thing to be a compliment. Axel could likely see the scars, small pale marks and blotches that covered his skin, they seemed invisible to human eyes and only seemed to be noticed by ‘others’ who were paying attention.
“So what do you do? What do you like to do?” He asked, blue hues bright with interest.
“I never said it didnt exists I just think now it is just a city rather than the whole country as it used to be.” He smirked as the other laughed and when he turned his head he inspected the damage that had been done to him.
“Impressive.” He remarked with a smile. “Cant say I have anything like that, I have a few scars but they are not from battles.” He chuckled as he watched him carefully.
“I have a feeling that is loaded question as what I say I like is not normal for our kind.”
He had just been sitting down enjoying a cup of tea when he caught the other staring at him, he shrugged at first but when the other didn’t stop he looked over at him, raising an eyebrow as the other vampire started to speak. “Axel. Now tell me why you were staring.”
He nodded a bit at Axel’s comment about all vampires being mad, a smile still on his lips. “Sweden’s nice, never lived there, but visited a time or two.”
“Definitely not England, do I look that posh to you?” he asked feigning offense before chuckling softly. “I come from Sparta, originally.”
“You dont look posh at all, I was making a joke. You seem a little too serious.” He grinned at him. “Now Sparta…I dont think its been called that in years.” Axel smiled as he finished his drink.
“I suppose you do have more of the warrior look about you rather than the posh look.” He teased.
