“Im not sure red leather is something you should wear.” He said with a smirk as he did not look very good in it. “It makes you look pale. I suggest dark blue or black.”
Brent’s memory was back, but not all at once. It continued to come back, details now becoming more precise as to how he met Axel, the things he learned from that vampire and all those ways the other had wore him down and now he was only crazy about him. And now he was searching for him, thanks to a gift from his mother that will help him search for the thing he care about the most which is lost.
And he did care about Axel the most, right at that moment at least. There were other things he cared about, but now he didn’t seem to focus on them when he just needed to find his husband. He can’t believe that he actually married someone, that their level of relationship had become so deep and meaningful that they had made vows to stay together for this lifetime. Every now and then he was getting overemotional, his eyes moist from almost breaking into sobs. The only thing that will make him feel better was being in his presence.
At last, he stopped when the stone guided him to a cabin. He had to be in there? But what will h say? How would Axel react? There was one way to know, and he did so by knocking on the door and waiting.
Axel had stayed away from what was once his home, the home he had shared with his husband who had now forgotten everything about him but still remembered others. It was frustrating and it had hurt to see the look on Brent’s face when he didnt recognize him.
He ad retreated to the cabin he had owned before meeting Brent, days had passed and it he realised that Brent wasn’t going to remember him. though the longing to be with him, sleep next to him, and just be in his presence was still there.
While he had been staying away from Brent he had taken off his wedding ring and had spent most of his days drinking and crying himself to sleep or just passing out.
As he heard the knock on the door he stirred awake and shuffled to the door, kicking a few bottles as he did. He opened it a crack as it was still daylight and he wasn’t wearing his cross, as he saw Brent’s face he ran a hand over his face and rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating. “I….dont have anything else of yours…” He mumbled thinking thats why he was here.
He understands that Brent cant remember him it just hurts him, and the fact that he remembers Hailey and not him is like another stab in the heart. He’s not used to a cold Brent
Brent was growing frustrated. He grumbled and then started yelling. “Is telling me going to help me remember?! I just- I need to be alone. I NEED you to go and if, and if- this is your place, then I need to go soon but I need my stuff.” All he wanted now was to be alone, and for things to be like how it was before all this. Brent was used to being on his own, in fact he was rather content and was too self serving and selfish to actually do well in a relationship.
“How is any of this fair to me. No- don’t you dare look at me like that. Like you’re hurt or something. Oh gods, I hate tears.” He hated how much he was being affected by them, ow his heart was breaking seeing Axel, this total stranger, so hurt by this.
“That’s… that’s mine,” he pointed at the other’s necklace. “I need that back, I need all my clothes, where’s Hailey?”
Axel quickly pulled away from him as Brent started to yell, he just looked at him shocked, he wiped his tears away and stood up. “I’ll leave..” Its not like either of them had their own house to go to anymore they had both moved into this one and made it a home.
He looked away and moved out of the room gathering a few things to take with him, at the mention of the necklace he took it off and handed it to him. “Great you remember her…..Go find her yourself.” He mumbled as he left the house.
A few years. Why did that answer not soothe him? It’s because he’s gone too deep, that’s why. Axel must mean a lot if he’s stuck by for not two weeks like he usually did, but years. Goddamn it all. He can’t just leave now, it’ll tear him apart.
“Just- I don’t know, it’s all unclear,” he rubbed his aching head. The loss of memory was no accident. Brent was walking home one night when he got ambushed by a few of his old enemies. He was hit badly on the head and it made him lose his memories, and he just escaped from the hospital and ran for his home before they could give him a medical bill or learn he was a demigod.
“How did we meet?”
The vampire was in shock as he still seemed to not know him, he rubbed his own chest as he felt his heart hurting. He hadn’t lost him due to death but he other half had lost all memories and for the vampire it was like loosing him all over again. “….Ple..ase, try to…remember..” He forced out as he looked at him.
“We…..We…meet at a market…I..bumped into you and it went from there..” He whispered as he didnt look him in the eyes. He didnt want to tell him everything in case it was too much for the other to hear right now.
Brent sometimes forgot how strong Axel actually was. He always wore these long sleeved shirts that hid his biceps and would always touch him so gently that he would feel as though he was melting. But the moment that he got rough with him, it was as though he an forget the world and suddenly nothing felt as important anymore.
Like now. He felt everything around him shift as he was lying on the other’s lap in seconds, felt tossed like a rag doll. He was short of breath already, but he tried to look unaffected by keeping a straight face.
“Hello Axel, any reason you got me over your lap?” He bit his bottom lip as excitement and anticipation rose, hoping he’d get the spanking that he rightfully deserved. He was cheeky all morning before leaving for work.
“And someone else is thinking of bruising up my cheeks because I was being cheeky?” And he still was, unable to help himself even though he knew he may be going too far. But so what if he did? What was the worst that can happen? Axel’s strength was intimidating, even to him, but Brent had advanced healing so he was going to be fine afterwards. It was always exciting to bring out this dark side to Axel that he knew he always had.
Jeans fell to the floor in a heap, followed by his boxers before he strolled back to Axel, sitting obediently on his lap as his bareness was completely offered for his husband to do as he pleased.
“I am very muchly thinking of bruising up those lovely cheeks of yours, and I have a feeling it is what you wanted all along.” He whispered as Brent lay across his lap once more. He lightly ran his hand over his cheeks before lightly slapping it. Smiling at how it reacted to the hit.
Axel kissed Brent’s back lightly before slapping his ass a little harder this time, feeling the warmth of the hit as blood rushed to the area. “HOw many do you think you deserve?” He asked Brent as he gave him another smack.
“That cross’s powers are not infinite,” he admitted, remembering the day he made it and the immense care to detail he had to ensure that it will work properly. But magic like that was not meant to last forever, it was going to drain out and do so slowly. He smiled into the relaxing kiss and stood up, leading the other to the bathroom to share the shower together.
“Sounds like a plan,” he answered and turned the knob to let the shower water turn the right temperature, then pulled his shirt off and bit his lower lip. He was wearing a towel around his midsection while staring at the other, then decided that there was no point in having it on anyway if he was going in the shower right now with the other.
He grinned as he took off his boxers that he was wearing and stepped into the shower after him, putting his hands on Brent’s hips and kissing his shoulder softly as they moved under the water together. “HAve I told you how handsome you look today?” He whispered in Brent’s ear as he grabbed the soap.
Send 💗 to kiss my muse tenderly without explanation
Brent was a little stressed out, but that’s his fault. Axel was human now and that meant working even harder, for longer hours to ensure that there would be no side effects. He thought little about the outcome before he conjured the spell, and now all he can think of is ‘what will go wrong?’ while he spent every moment after.
He was so into his work that he had not realized Axel was in the room. Despite him not being a vampire now, he was still light on his feet and his steps were soundless. The kiss came as a pleasant surprise and all his tense muscles relaxed as he melted into the lip brush.
“How are you feeling, Axel?” Brent asked, lifting his gaze to meet his. “You’ve got my attention.”
“Oh love, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that I was neglecting you.” He stood up and pushed his wooden chair back in and headed towards Axel, then held his cheeks gingerly and smiled when their gazes met. “Don’t ever worry about bothering me, you can never be a bother. I’m willing to take a break from work now. Let’s go have some lunch, alright? Do you want some- mac and cheese?”
“I always worry about whether or not I should bother you.” He told the other as he held his cheeks. He smiled and gently too Brent’s hand. “I know your work is important….THats why I dont bother you but you have spent weeks in here, not being around…And it has made me sad.” He smiled at the talk of lunch and he squeezed Brent’s hand. “Mac and cheese is good, as long as you put bacon in it.” Axel told him as he walked with Brent into the kitchen.
