For anyone else, Anita would not have put the gun down, most likely would’ve pulled it from out of its hiding place and placed it squarely on their chest. And yet for him… She clicked the safety back on the gun and set it in on her lower back, the sweat pants and t-shirt she was donning holding it safely against her back while every nerve in her body protested. Everything told her not to trust him, to stay in the safe confines of her home with her weapons out and talk to the vampire there, at least she would have cover on her side. Out there she would be exposed and vulnerable, but so far he had been kind to her. What would keep him from grabbing her throat and pulling her out forcefully?

“Can we just call him ‘Jean-Claude’ instead of having to deal with my arguing against the whole ‘master’ thing?” Anita sighed and opened the door further and glanced down at her shirt that might have been a bit too revealing, especially noticing that she wasn’t wearing a bra. “Hold on,” she slid the door closed slightly for privacy as she pulled off the shirt and threw on an over-sized hoodie and her tennis shoes.

“Alright,” she erupted from her apartment, closing the door swiftly behind her and ignoring his closeness to the door when she exited. “What happened?”

Once he heard the safety click on he relaxed slightly and gave her a small smile. ‘Thank you.” He told her as he moved from standing right in front of her doorway. “I can agree to that, or asshole.” Axel suggested with a laugh as she opened the door more, giving him a glimpse into her apartment.

He noticed that the shirt she was wearing did show that she was not wearing a bra but he did not mention it to her. He nodded and turned his back to the door even as she closed it he didnt want her to think that he would spy on her and catch a glimpse of her naked form should she be changing.

As she came back out he started to walk down the stairs. “Lets just say he is not willing to listen to the voice of change. Did you know he still locks vampires who in his mind betray him in coffins as Nikolaos did? I tried to explain to him that he did not have to treat his people in such a way, also I got in his face over the marks he put on you.” Axel told her as they walked out of the building.
