Madison didn’t like being ignored. Especially after being left alone so long. She was needy for attention or even just the sound of someone else’s voice and he was denying her that simple luxury. She didn’t know what happened to him while he was gone but she didn’t think she was going to get it out of him anytime soon. She sat by the bathroom door for a long time before realizing that he would probably be in there a while and there was no use in waiting.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity she just went to the bedroom and crawled into the bed she shared with him on the nights that he was the man she loved and allowed her to do so. She was curled up under the soft comforter asleep but the moment she heard him enter the room she sat up quickly and rubbed at her eyes putting a protective hand on her stomach. She wasn’t a sound sleeper because she couldn’t afford to be living with him and never knowing what to expect.

“Do you want me to leave?” If he told her he did she would scramble away quickly before she incurred any of his wrath. Her due date was rapidly approaching and she was more terrified of him hurting the baby more than ever before.

“Stay if you want.” Axel mumbled as he threw his towel onto the floor and climbed onto the bed, he was just tired and trying to make sense of everything, he rubbed the back of his head as he looked at her. He just sighed and lay down pulling the blanket around him as he closed his eyes. He was weary of being next to her and their unborn child but he wanted to just sleep in his bed, it was warm and clean and at least had someone who cared about him in the bed and not a dead body.

Axel slowly fell asleep listening to her and the child’s heart beat, it was like a lullaby for him. He slept through the day as he normally would. He didnt wake till just as the sun went down, he reached out and felt around the bed for her, hoping that she had decided to stay in the bed till he woke, though he wouldnt blame her if she had left him alone.
