With quick movements, the messy scrawl of Axel’s order met the notepad. While the chef in the back did not yet need the listing, Selene would need it later when it came time to collect when he owed. “It is nice,” she agreed, “but it does get lonely on nights like these. You’re my first customer in what feels like ages,” the brunette exaggerated as she misplaced the notepad and began to walk down to the pies that were on display. “We’ve got cherry, apple, and pecan,” Selene listed before biting her lower lip. It had been hours since her last break, and the sight of the sugar crusted pie tops made her stomach growl longingly.
“Not many night owls in this town it seems.” He laughed as he looked up at her. He could hear her stomach growl as she listed off the different pies they had. “Grab two of your favorite and come sit with me. I haven’t had company in a while….It would be nice to sit and eat with a friendly face.” Axel smiled as he leaned back in his chair, he could tell that she needed a break, something to eat and to be off her feet for a few moments.
