“Forgive my tardiness, but as you can imagine… its been quite a day.” Ana stopped directly before the younger monarch and awaited his posturing to her before nodding to him in return. Proper, polite, but at her age and title (recently styled Empress, though Queen still sufficed), she bowed to no one.
The Conclave, her peers, had not been pleased with her extending an invitation to Alrikson to come visit the French covens. The Nordic Council of Monarchs had been long removed from Europe’s messy wars (for good reason, was Ana’s opinion on the matter) and by and large the feelings on this were resentful. However, he had clearly not given them and their threats any more mind than she had.
“I hope the trip was not too arduous. I’m taking dinner now, while I have the chance. Please, join me?”
“Its fine, I understand that you have other matter that are more important to deal with than talking to me.” He said before bowing slightly and closing the book he had been reading while waiting for her to come to him.
“It was a little bumpy.” He smirked as he looked at her, taking in how she looked and held her self. “It would be my pleasure.” Axel smiled as he held his arm out for her to hold while they walked to where she was to have dinner. “I do have to ask why you have extended the invitation to come and visit now instead of years before.”
