Brent, out of his own self pity, did not see that the other was making efforts to make himself happy. He believed the prince only cared for his own delights, but if he really thought about it, Brent was not all that miserable either- he was afraid he liked it too much when it all might end sooner than he would have expected.

“If this place really makes you feel that way then I dont want to keep you here Brent, you are free to come and go as you please.” He told the other as he looked at his hand on his shoulder. He wasn’t sure if he should comfort Brent or leave, he was hurt to know that Brent thought that he didnt care about him even though he tried to show him he did every day.
