Madison was still asleep when he came back, blonde head rested against the back of the tub and oblivious to the fact that he was cleaning the house of bad memories before she came out of the bathroom again. As soon as she heard his voice her eyes snapped open and she jumped up nearly slipping in the tub trying to scramble out of it and away from him. When she saw the kindness in his face she remembered that the monster had retreated from him and a kind, gentle man had carried her to the bathroom. She eyed the bowl in his hand distrustingly wondering if it were more of the slop he’d been feeding her. “I’m not hungry.” Madison lied as her stomach took that exact moment to betray her and grumble loudly. The girl was so skinny to begin with and she’d lost even more weight so it was obvious she was being half starved and needed to eat. 

As he saw the fear in her eyes he backed off till she remembered it was him and not the other him. “Hey…hey…its okay, I wont hurt you.” He said softly as he slowly moved over to her and gently picked her up out of the bath and dried her off before putting her in one of his warmer shirts and pants, he picked her up again and took her into the bedroom, showing her that he had made it more liveable again. “I know you are hungry, but look I made this better for you…I will get you something better tomorrow, I promise.” He whispered as he kissed her cheek and put her on the bed, putting the blankets over her and turning the heater up.
