She squeaked in surprise, the bird thrashing a moment as it fell over before righting itself and looking quite confused, head turning to look at the new cage, and the other owl, who had woken in the flurry of motion.
“Thanks,” she said with a smile, reaching a finger through the cage to stroke her owl’s ruffled chest feathers until it nipped her gently. She then settled down for the journey, feeling through her bag until one of the books felt warm under her finger. She pulled it out and saw it the basic spells.
“I’m going to guess you used one of the spells from here? I haven’t read any of the books yet… It’s going to be a long journey… Mind if I read a bit, or nap? Sorry, I don’t really… Know what to say? I’m a little awkward, and we have some time..”
He smiled as he saw the bird and he put his fingers through the bars of the cage to settle his own bird as she did the same with hers. “Don’t worry Loki you will be let out once we get there.” He said softly to the bird before looking over at her.
“Oh that one no, my father taught me it after I had done the same thing that boy did to your bird, except I did it with the family dog.” He laughed. “Go a head, I will wake you when we get there if you want, from what I can tell we are a little while away still.” Axel explained with a smile.
