Alaska never thought clearly when she woke from a nightmare. She panted for breath, her skin uncomfortably warm, and looked around. She wasn’t in cuffs, she wasn’t in a cell; she was okay. Alaska took a breath and climbed over Axel, then curled against his chest. His skin cooled hers.
Axel felt her curl against him and he reached out for her, pulling her closer to him his arms wrapping around her gently before he kissed her forehead. “I’m…here….you…safe.” The vampire mumbled as he was lost in a dream of his own thinking that Alaska had been his wife and not the blood slave he had brought days before. “…love…you..” Axel whispered as he snuggled into her.
